Kids

Bring your children up in the training and instruction of the Lord.
(Ephesians 6:4)

.
Zion Lutheran's Early Childhood Center assist parents in bringing up their children in the training and instruction of the Lord in a warm, nurturing environment, under the guidance of a well-trained staff.

All children attending our early childhood programs will daily hear the truths of God's everlasting love through the Bible. Our programs also encourage the intellectual, social, and physical development of each child through active and quiet, individual and group, and indoor and outdoor activities.

Our 4-year-old preschool fosters a quality of living that provides well-balanced growth and promotes specific goals:

  • To instill in each young child a knowledge of God's love for him or her
    .
  • To teach basic academic skills through fun, age-appropriate activities: reading and math readiness, science and social studies awareness, music and art.

Our staff

ECC Staff

The Zion Early Childhood Center staff is committed to the caring and nurturing of young children from the first "hello" upon arrival to the last "goodbye" at the conclusion of the day. They all have years of experience in childcare.

The administration of both the day care and preschool programs are provided by the director, Mrs. Katherine Herzog. Kathy holds a degree in early childhood education, and has been with the center since the program began in 1990. She, along with the rest of the staff, will be participating in in-service classes to keep current with materials and activities for young children.

Faith development is the core of the curriculum in our early childhood program. Daily plans include activities that add to the spiritual life of young children. With our ministry/mission being centered in Jesus Christ, we will incorporate the following curriculum goals:

Spiritual Growth
Emotional Growth
Social Growth
Physical Growth
Intellectual Growth
Creative Growth

Our facilities

Zion Lutheran's Early Childhood Center has its own wing attached to Zion Lutheran School.  This new addition was dedicated in 1999 and provides us with two offices and three classrooms.

Because our day care is attached to Zion Lutheran School, we have access to outdoor playground areas, a gymnasium, a cafeteria, a school library, and much more!

We invite you to pay a visit to see our beautiful facility and meet our dedicated and caring staff.  Please call or e-mail in advance so we can have someone ready to guide you around and answer your questions.
